St Damian's School Performance

15 August 2014 | General Interest

I consider that our St Damian’s second school performance was an outstanding success. The feedback from parents, grandparents and friends has been so very positive.  I felt both proud and excited as I watched our talented students perform. It was such a colourful, vibrant and entertaining performance.  The theme, ‘Together as One’ was so appropriate as it captures our dream for this community. We are a multicultural community, with many different dreams and aspirations, however we want to be united.  As many people are aware we incorporated this performance into our Community Arts Project with the purpose being to further build community.

I believe that all our students did their very best and I congratulate them on their marvellous performance.  Our children from all levels were so excited and enthusiastic and their achievements were commendable. I acknowledge the excellent contributions by our solo, duo and group participants. I congratulate all our students.

As I did at the conclusion of each evening, we extend my special thanks to you our parents for supporting St Damian’s in this endeavour. I particularly thank you for assisting us with costumes and props. Your cooperation and assistance made it possible for us to offer this opportunity to the children.

I would also like to especially thank and acknowledge, Meaghan Norrie, our Performance Administrator, Jessica Quinn our Contemporary Arts teacher, Joanne Abbott who choreographed the entire show, Bernard and Gemma Hedger, our Technical Directors and Stage Managers, Sam Flajnik our photographer, and Giulia Argiro our Ticket Secretary. It is most important that I acknowledge all staff as they so willingly and enthusiastically supported this performance and I am very grateful. It was a wonderful team effort and I congratulate them.  I also thank and congratulate the staff who performed in the staff item as I consider they were fantastic! Thank you all for your many and varied positive comments. We look forward to our next performance in 2016.
